This is a sign of mutual cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IOC
The Chair of the Council of Members, George Svanidze, sent the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid A. Khodjaev, an olive sapling as a sign of mutual cooperation between the country and the IOC.
Uzbekistan has a keen interest in olive cultivation and may soon share the benefits of acceding to the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives, 2015. Chair Svanidze paid a tribute to the Minister and gave him a bottle of extra virgin olive oil from the Caucasus, a symbolic gesture to strengthen ties between the IOC and Uzbekistan.
